The Philosophy Behind My Work
Hi, I’m Heather.
I’ve been photographing people since 2009 and specializing in fine art portraiture since 2019 — creating dreamy, painterly images inspired by fairytales and old-world beauty. But over time, I realized something important:
The magic didn’t start when I picked up the camera.
It started when I began building the world.
Today, my work centers around couture dressmaking, costume design, and story-driven art. I design and sew heirloom-quality gowns for children and women, create imaginative concepts, and use photography as a tool to preserve the finished piece.
I don’t just take portraits.
I create storybook moments.
Three Little Kittens Designs is my couture wear studio, where sewing becomes an extension of my art. Each piece is thoughtfully designed and handmade, often created as part of a larger visual story — a portrait, a concept, or a creative exploration.
I design and sew one-of-a-kind gowns and statement pieces inspired by childhood imagination, vintage silhouettes, and fine art aesthetics. These garments are not mass-produced; they are slow-made, detail-focused, and created with the same care and intention that goes into my portrait work.
Many of the dresses you see in my images are made in my studio and later offered through my Etsy shop, Three Little Kittens Designs. Some pieces are created purely for art, while others are available for purchase by families, photographers, or collectors who value craftsmanship and storytelling through clothing.
At its heart, Three Little Kittens Designs is about celebrating creativity, childhood, and the beauty of handmade work — where fabric, imagination, and portraiture come together.
